Rising MMA Promotions Benefit the Fans First

So I'm watching the UFC 84 pay for view Saturday night and It reminded me of the days when the UFC was really trying to build itself up. In the past it always seemed like you were getting your moneys worth. The cards where, for the most part, always stacked, and they always televised a ton of fights. Over the past year or so it seemed to really decline. Cards were not as good, with maybe only one really big fight, sometimes not even that, and only five or six televised fights. Is it a coincidence that one week before the first ever nationally televised MMA event, The UFC decides to give us a stacked card with nine televised fights? This new competition the EliteXC and other upstart organizations are giving the UFC will only benefit the fans. No longer will we have to settle with Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping main evet. Maybe the UFC will also start televising some of the killer fights they've been leaving off the pay for view, just to get the fan to pay another $9.99 to watch it on the internet.
Every champion needs to be kicked in the head from time to time to remind them that they are in a fight, and that they need to step up tier game. EliteXC just landed a roundhouse.
