Things Blue Corner Needs to Change

Friday night I went to the Blue Corner Battles in Independence, Missouri. And I have a few suggestions for improving that show. Before I get into that, however, let me start off with what I liked about the show. For $20 you get a six pack of beer ($3.00 a beer beats $7.50 at the Royals), 14 fights on the card was nice, free stuff getting throw into the crowd was also nice.

Here is what I didn't’t like and what needs to change:

  • Figure out the lights (hint – practice before the show). I sat on the fighter entrance side and for the first quarter of the show, when a fighter would come out the lights would come on, and then they’d go out, then come on……then out…..on…..out……………on…………………………………………..out. My eight year old could have done a better job.
  • Don’t play any music when the ring announcer is talking. I didn't’t hear 75% of what he said because music was always playing. TURN IT OFF, no one wants to here that shit. (hint 2 – practice before the show)
  • I understand that the location of the event makes this one hard to do, but some kind of raised seating would be nice. I got lucky and was up against a wall, so when the fight started I could stand on a chair to see. If I was anywhere else but up front, I would not have been able to see anything when the fights went to the ground – and they all went to the ground.
